After divorce, men have to pay alimony, child support, house and money for wife, while women have no responsibility. They are denied child custody. Why is this outrageous gender bias against men? Why are men tolerating this?
Good question. I don’t know why this is being tolerated. It’s total nonsense and I don’t know how the radical feminists have managed to get things like this done. Probably through a combination of whining and subterfuge. I remember when I was in high school in the late ’90s my friends and I used to joke about ‘crazy feminists’ and just laugh at how absurd they were. Little did we know the laugh was on us but we have to give full credit to them. Their machinations were definitely unnoticed by all of us.
divorced men with children live in the bad part of town in a small appartment barely scraping by, while the mothers live in a nice house with little to ask for ?
How come “studies” done by feminists which show men are better off after divorce, are so inconsistent with reality ? How come studies period are so inconsistent with reality ?
divorced men are x6 more likely to kill themselves than women are. I don’t think men fair well under these divorce laws at all.
The living divorced woman is still sealed to the Melchizedek Priesthood holder. I have been told that Mormon men can seal many wives one at at time in the temples, It only says if one is deceased, the gospel law is unclear about divorced men marrying in the temple then getting civil divorces and getting temple sealings again, and again continually. Where do I find the information about this?
TrishARoo is wrong. I am sealed to two living women, but married to only one of them.
A living man can be sealed to more than one living woman, but he can only be married to one woman at a time. If he divorces and remarries, he can be sealed to his new wife without “breaking” the sealing to the previous wife. His ex-wife and the first presidency have to approve this. Actually, IIRC, the ex-wife only needs to be notified of this, and can choose not to respond of the notice.
I don’t think in the real world you will find this happening “continually”. I suspect that more then 2 or 3 times is extremely rare.
I’ve read many articles about men who really suffer after a divorce.. They lose their wife, children, house, money, and have to keep paying child support long after. Also there are studies that show that suicide rates are much higher in divorced men than divorced women. I’m a single guy, but it does make me kind of scared when I read stuff like this, especially in light of the fact that women initiate divorce much more frequently than men do..
and prevent them from starting over and building a new life. Therefore many men think it is best to avoid marriage, to not even risk being exposed to the anti-man divorce laws in America and some countries of Europe.
Do you think their view of divorce is apt, or exaggerated, even wrong ?

“It all equals out, doesn’t it ?” Except that women are not willing to enter a set up where they “lose”, I do not see that many divorce women with children getting remarried.
Divorce is one sided. No fault divorce is an injustice because a woman will find a new man before she leaves the old man. If kids are involved it is horrrible. The husband gets booted out of the house. Gets crippled financially. Taxes and child support eat up 70% of his income. He looks at his check and says wow that was for nothing.

I celebrated my divorce. Not because I was glad to be divorced but because I was relieved to have it finally over with and I was OVERJOYED to be free from living with a man who made me miserable.
If it were up to my ex-husband we would still be together, fighting everyday and living in horribly wedded hell.
